Social Media Campaign assignment:
Research and design an explainer piece about a topic or an event for a specific
social audience. This should have 5-7 cards to create a carousel with one as a cover. In this project you will focus on creating a data-backed visual to design an infographic.
I selected National Disability Employment Awareness Month 2024 (NDEAM). Below is the Instagram Carousel I designed for Instagram to bring attention toward disability awareness and inclusion within the workplace, inspired by past themes from the Department of Labor.
Alt. text: An instagram post; a faint rainbow mosaic background with a city scene and billboard that reads: “October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! Empowering EVERY ABILITY in EVERY STATE.” US Departments of Labor & Health, Education and Welfare seals, handicap heart and teal awareness ribbon included. “Unlock the power of inclusivity in your workplace. Swipe to start!” Call to action at the bottom.

Alt. text: An instagram post; a faint rainbow mosaic background with overlaying text: “Invisible disabilities exist around you. Disability comes in all shapes and sizes, even when you can’t see it!" Icons of various types of disabilities with text labels: audio, physical, cognitive, visual.

Happy National Disability Employment Awareness Month of 2024!♥️ ♿︎
Since 1945, NDEAM has brought awareness to the disparities of employment rates in the labor force for people with disabilities. NDEAM is a celebration of inclusion in the face of workplace discrimination, which disproportionately affects minority populations. It also serves as reminder to all that anybody could become part of the disability community at any time. This year’s slogan, Empowering Every Ability in Every State, represents a commitment to fostering inclusive work environments across the country.
Are you ready to make your workplace more inclusive? Let’s break barriers, create equal opportunities and ensure everyone has a seat at the table. 💼🇺🇸 Swipe through to learn how you can make an impact this month and beyond!

The Scroll Story assignment:
Using the similar topic, images, and content created for your Social Design project, you will now use it to design a web-first digital publication to push your ability to tell visual stories in the scroll story format used by media outlets across the world. You will be designing a one page vertically scrolling web page using Figma to focus on "scrollytelling" (scroll + storytelling) using a combination of type, images, and interactive features.
To expand upon my Social Campaign for NDEAM and inspire continued activism for disability employment awareness, I created a scroll story of major themes with engaging interactions. Below are elements of my process and the final design.
Design assets/ DIY Icons: process. Lofi: First draft. NDEAM Scroll Story: Final product
